The Church of Spilt Blood, also known as the Resurrection Church of Our Saviour, was built on the spot where in 1881 Tsar Alexander II was assassinated.

Inside more than 20 types of minerals, including jasper, rhodonite, porphyry and Italian marble are lavished on the stunning mosaics.

The interior reopened in 1998 after more than 20 years of restoration.
