Jordan - 1999

In June-July-August-September-October 1999 we went on our first around the world trip.
(99-days - Melbourne - Bangkok - Frankfurt - Moscow - St. Petersburg - Stockholm  - Helsinki - Copenhagen - Malaga - London -
Western Europe - UK - Egypt - Jordan - Israel - Greece - New York - Las Vegas - Melbourne).

After great sightseeing in Egypt, including Dahab in the Sinani, we caught a ferry to Aqaba in Jordan,

On the dirty, over-crowded ferry on the voyage from Nuweiba to Aqaba..

The passengers spat out their food on the deck and threw lots of rubbish into the Red Sea.

We caught a shared taxi from Aquaba to Petra.

After 2 nights and great sight-seeing at Petra we caught a mini-bus to Amman, the capital of Jordan
and then another mini-bus to the Allenby Bridge, the border crossing to Israel.

Crossing the Jordan river at the Allenby Bridge (or King Hussain Bridge as it is known in Jordan), going into Israel.

We caught another mini-bus to Jerusalem in Israel.
