Kuala Lumpur - 2011

In June 2011 my 15-day IntrepidTravel tour of Sumatra in Indonesia began in Kuala Lumpur.
I flew to Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia.

This imposing building, opposite the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, was formerly a railways administration centre.

They had a lot of beautiful orchids.

Although it originated in China, and came to Malaysia with trade before the 12th century,
the Hibiscus (Rosa Senesis) is the national flower of Malaysia.
It is found in abundance throughout Malaysia and is known locally as Bunga Raya.
They had a great display, in many different colours, in the gardens.

to Start

After 2 nights in Kuala Lumpur we flew to Medan in Sumatra.
When my 15-day IntrepidTravel tour of Sumatra finished we flew back to Kuala Lumpur.
I spent another night in Kuala Lumpur, and then I flew to Bali for the start of my week long trip of Lombok in Indonesia.
When this trip finished I flew from Bali to Perth, a fortnight before Drew's 4th birthday.
