Malawi - 2008
In November 2008, I spent 4 days in Malawi as part of my 46-day IntrepidTravel 7-country, East African truck-camping tour.

Established in 1891, the British protectorate of Nyasaland became the independent nation of Malawi in 1964.
It is separated from Tanzania and Mozambique by Lake Malawi.

We crossed the border from Tanzania into Malawi.

Lake Malawi, the ninth largest lake in the world, is a freshwater lake.
It is 580km long and 75km at it widest.
These photos were taken at Kande Beach.

After we ate our evening meal at a village, the locals put on a song and dance concert for us.

Further south we camped at a pleasant spot, Senga Bay.

African flame trees are a striking sight.

From Malawi we crossed the border into Zambia.
