Cape Cross Seal Colony - Namibia - 2009
About 120 km north of Swakopmund, there is a massive seal colony in which
there are many thousands of Cape Fur Seals.
Many of them had yong pups.
90% of the pups are born in a 24-day period in late November and early December.
It was very smelly.
In 1486, Diego Cao, the first European to set foot on Namibia erected a cross in honour of John 1 of Portugal.
