Victoria Falls Town - Zimbabwe - 2009

In Oct-Nov-Dec 2009 I flew to Perth where I caught up with new-born Bryn for the first time.
I flew to Johannesburg for the start of the first of my 2 DriftersTravel tours of Southern Africa.
The first tour went via Durban to Cape Town.
On the second tour I tavelled from Cape Town through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe back to Johannesburg.

My tour crossed the border from Botswana into Zimbabwe and then we travelled about 50km to Victoria Falls Town.

On this trip we went to Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls from that side.
There is a small town near them called Victoria Falls.
It was once a smart place but it is now run down.

You can see the spray from the falls at the end of the main street.

There was no fuel at the garage.

Paraffin here is another name for kerosene.

We ate at this restaurant.

I had a warthog burger.   Very naughty of me to eat my favourite animal.

Fellow diners.

We stayed at the Drifters Inn here.

The beagle at the inn had been attacked by a warthog.
I make no comment! ...  Warthogs are my favourite African animals.

Some Zimbabwe dancers put on a short show for us at the inn.
