The city of Dambulla is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka,
148 km north-east of Colombo and 72 km north of Kandy.

Dambulla Caves
There are 5 main caves amongst more than 80 caves in the area.
We inspected the impressive paintings, murals and Buddhas in these caves.
Nearby Buddhist monastery ruins date from 2nd century BC.
The caves were embellished with these entrances in 1938.
