Negombo - 2011
In May 2011, I flew to Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia.
After a long wait I flew to Colombo for the start of my 15-day IntrepidTravel tour of Sri Lanka.
Negombo is a beach-side city about 10 kilometres north of Colombo airport.

Tree-climbers collect nectar from coconut flowers to make "toddy", an alcoholic drink.
They tie off the bud of the flowers so that the nectar drips into pots.
The collectors walk between the tree-tops on ropes .
