On the road from Samarkand to Bukhara, we came across 2 French cyclists.
They had no set destination.
Jean-Phillipe had been on the road for over 2 years.
Jacques had been riding with Jean-Phillipe for 7 months.
We told them obout Heather, our former teaching colleague who rode from Beijing to Istanbul (and later to Paris).

Further along the road from Samarkand to Bukhara, we stopped off at a village.
Their living conditions were very basic.
They loved seeing their pictures on the iPad.
