in a Nutshell - Flam Railway - 2015
A full day ferry and rail trip from Bergen.
First up a 5 and a half hour ferry trip from Bergen to Flam through the fjords.
Leaving Bergen
A similar ferry to the one that we were cruising on.
And so after 5 and a half hours on the ferry we arrived at Flam at the end of a fjord.
Besides the tourist shops there was a small museum here.
After an hour and a half to look around Flam we had a ride on the Flam railway.
The train climbs up an incline of 1:18 through spectactular countryside.
The trip takes about an hour.
The train stops at a platform where we were able to have a great view of this waterfall.
We changed trains at Myrdal for the 2-hour trip back to Bergen.
Back in Bergen. A great day!
