Rekefjord is a fjord and harbour village in southern Norway
about 130km south of Stavanger.
From 1863 until 1965 iron ore was mined nearby.
The
iron ores mined were magnetite and ilmenite (a titanium-iron oxide).
Stunningly
picturesque
is best way to describe the setting.
Quarried rock is still produced near the mouth of the fjord.
It is mainly shipped to Europe particularly to The
Netherlands.
Doug
and Eva's house at Rekefjord.
A very comfortable house located in a beautiful setting right on the
fjord.
They had a fibre-optic Internet connection too !!
While we were dining on Doug's gourmet seafood, a white swan glided
past the window.
Rekefjord

Doug very kindly took us for a cruise on the picturesque fjord.
Doug's boatshed is adjacent to his back patio.
