Teatro Colon - Buenos Aires - Argentina
May 2004
Seating 2500 and finished in 1908, it is considered to be one of the top 4 opera houses in the world in regard to its acoustics and infrastructure. Sol, our guide there, gave us an excellent tour. |

We were entertained by an opera singer and given a violin recital. We saw the workshops - costume making, tailoring, wig making, carpentry, shoe making, scenery and rehearsal rooms. Many of these facilities are under the Av 9 de Julio. |
|
One Monday night we went to a concert (cheap at $1 each).
It was a choral performance by Thrice. Margaret enjoyed it ... too avant-garde for me. |
|
Aida was the first performance in the new theatre in 1908. |
