Yosemite Falls
(California)

In April 2000 the Easter school holidays continued on to Anzac Day, so we had the opportunity to have a 2½-week holiday in California.
We flew to Sydney to Los Angeles and on to San Francisco.

After 3 days visiting the sights there and at Monterey we caught an Amtrack train to Modesto and a bus to Yosemite National Park.

The 750m high Yosemite Falls are the highest in North America and the 5th highest in the world.

Half Dome is a well-known rock formation in the park, named for its distinct shape.
It rises 1450m above the valley floor.
