Budapest
walking tour
I
went on the "See Budapest like the locals walking tour" on the Pest
side of Budapest.
Former warehouses on the
Danube River bank near our boat have been modernised.
They now house restaurants, cafes and small shops.
There are some beautiful
buildings in Budapest.
We caught a tram and train
to a traditional market.
The exterior of the market
has been designed to look like a ship.
Gabor
Sztehlo(1909–
1974) was a Hungarian Lutheran pastor who was
responsible for saving
the lives of 2,000 Jewish persons (1,600
children and 400 adults)
during World War II.
We
stopped off at a lovely restaurant for coffee and cake.
This
sculpture is made entirely of marzipan.
An interesting fountain. Water spouts form the pages of the
book.
