In July-August 2007, a fortnight after Drew was born (and after
we visited him in Perth), we visited South America for our third time.
(59-days - Melbourne - Auckland - Santiago - Buenos Aires
(Argentina) - Iguassu Falls (Argentina and Brazil) - Buenos Aires
- Salta -
Atacama Desert (Argentina and Chile) - Santiago - Quito (Ecuador) -
Galapagos Islands - Quito - Bogata (Colombia) - Cartagena (Colombia)
-
Bogata - Caracas (Venezuela) - Angel Falls (Venezuela) - Caracas - Santiago - Auckland - Melbourne)
After 5 nights at Buenos Aires in Argentina we flew to Iguassu Falls and crossed into Brazil and stayed at the
Hotel Tropical Das Cataras on the Brazil side of the Falls.
We met Ben and Crystal here. They had been travelling the world
for a long time and they travelled here from northern Brazil.
We travelled with them back into Argentina. We flew to Buenos Aires and then to Salta in northern Argentina.
We toured the Atacama Desert near here and in Chile. We flew to
Santiago and went to nearby El Colorado Ski Resort for a few days.
We left Ben and Crystal there and flew to Quito in Ecuador for the rest of this South American trip.
